This book is written very well and covers great topics that are usually absent from similar programming language ...

This book is written very well and covers great topics that are usually absent from similar programming language books. However, I cannot recommend this book as it is already outdated. Professional Swift was released just two months ago, and with Swift 2.0 released around the same time, many of the book's examples are now full of deprecated code. I believe the author could post updates that would make the code in the book usable, but as of now he has not done so.
It should be stated again that the book is very easy to understand and well written. It is just already outdated. Save yourself the frustration and buy a book that is specifically about Swift 2, or wait for this book to be updated.

Excellent book on Swift

Excellent book on Swift. A lot of technical material is very verbose. This gives you all the need-to-know and any nitty-gritty stuff can be worked out in documentation.
