This is an excellent book that changed my world perspective on God's relationship to all people over all times and with all nations scattered on the Earth. Nicely connects Chinese history and beliefs from Noah and the past to Christianity. Did not know that Jesus was in an ancient Chinese prophesy, did you? Definitely should be in every Christians and Chinese person's library.

This is an amazing book outlining and explaining the similarities of the religion of the Ancient Chinese and the Bible. You won't be disappointed in reading it.

Long awaited text for expert practice

Physical therapists like myself have been waiting for a text from the author for over 10 years. Definitely a text for someone well versed in the anatomy and mechaincs of the musculoskeletal system. This text is written in clear categories and deals with problems in three general areas. It takes effort and analytic thinking to understand the myriad of motions listed in the text. A CD with actual demonstrations would help immensely in seeing all the factors the author is illustrating. The introduction covers very complex ideas made as simple as possible by the author. I would recommend this text for any movement specialist but I would caveat my recommendation with the warning that hard work is needed to really grasp the techniques listed in this text. This author is saying things that need to be learned by movement specialists and only can be applied by an expert.

thorough and understandable

I'm a rowing coach and was always looking for a book on the treatment of movement impaiments that would take an alternative look at the subjekt. With Shirley Sahrmann's book I have found everything I was hoping for. The author goes from the more general presentation of the necessary background informantion to the spezific diagnosis and possible treatments of the most common movement impairment syndroms. She also provides insights in an understanding these syndroms that is coming from a rather holistic perspective. Thus she is looking at movement problems as a result of problems of the whole chain of muscels involved in that movement, not just the specific muscels of the area, where the symptoms are noticed first. Any coach, who has discovered that improving athletes' performance in competition means advancing their physical performance by removing movement impairments, will quickly call this book one of his favourites.

Sahrman at Her Best

The reason this book got 4 instead of 5 stars is because this is a very dense, text book quality tome that is written by one of the leading researchers, writers and teachers in the field of rehab and movement, Dr. Shirley Sahrmann.
It is not light or easily accessible information nor is it intended to be. It will require your utmost focus and concentration but that effort will be rewarded with more than a few "AH HAH" moments.
Again, I believe this is a book that should be a reference book in any serious, career minded fitness or performance coach and it goes without saying that the same applies to the physical therapy field.

Great photography, text needs proofreading

CSX (MBI Railroad Color History) by Brian Solomon provides a good overview of how CSX came into being from its predecessor railroads such as Seaboard Air Line, Atlantic Coast Line, L&N, Conrail, and others. The photography is anywhere from good to stunning, particularly in the large format pages of this book. Various photographers contributed their works.

The text, however, leaves something to be desired. There are a few factual disagreements between photo captions and the narrative over the same point, as well as numerous cases where a thesaurus might have elevated the text from pedestrian to artistry. I'm being nitpicky here, but after all, it is a book made of written words so those words should be carefully selected and reviewed by multiple eyes before going to the publisher. This one looked a bit rushed.

Nevertheless, this is a good book to catch up quickly on where CSX came from, how its power fleet evolved, and documents some of the recent history of its ancestors. I have learned quite a bit about the railroad and I am only at page 109 out of 157 pages. I can recommend this book.

Keep in mind that this book bears a published date of 2005, so some things have changed materially since then.

THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST BOOK WRITTEN ON THE CSX RAILROAD COMPANY TODAY. BRAIN SOLOMON TAKES YOU ON A GREAT JOURNEY THROUGH 25 YEARS OF CSX COLOR/B&W RAILROAD HISTORY. THE TRAIN PICTURES ARE JUST PLAIN GREAT, THE PURITY OF THE PICTURES JUST BLOWS YOU AWAY. THE TEXT IS VARY WELL WRITTEN, EASY TO UNDERSTAND PICTURE CATIONS, AND THE OVER ALL LAYOUT OF THE BOOK IS GOOD. BRAIN SOLOMON IS CONSIDERED BY MANY TO BE ONE OF THE BEST RAILROAD AUTHORS OF OUR TIME. Pretty good, but could have been better

This is a decent book, but not one of MBI's best. The pictures are good, but there is no route map in the entire book. A lot of the pictures look too alike. The MBI Norfolk Southern book is considerably better.

About the Author
Sekhar Bandyopadhyay is a professor and Director at New Zealand India Research Institute. Sekhar Bandyopadhyay has published several books and many articles in his field. Caste, Culture and Hegemony: Social Dominance in Colonial Bengal, Caste, Protest and Identity in Colonial India: The Namasudras of Bengal 1872-1947 and Caste, Politics and The Raj: Bengal 1872-1937 are his other books.

Sekhar Bandyopadhyay has an MA and PhD. He has also received the Marsden grant for his project, Dalits in the History of Partition in Eastern India. His research interests include political and social history of South Asia during colonial rule, identity formation and caste system in India in 19th and 20th century.

I read this book, and I have a question for everyone who believes that the Olympic that sank…When the Olympic was scrapped in 1935, and the panelling from removed from the public areas of the ship the Olympic's name was stenciled on the back…If they really switched ships for whatever reason, then they didn't do a good job. In fact the name Olympic can still be seen in all the surviving fixtures….Not a believer in they conspiracy...
