In spite of its restrictive title, his book reviews most of the information on the biology of scyphozoa up to that date.

The wide range of adaptive responses of these morphologically simple animals is emphasized. This book, the first of its type to be published since the 1970s, includes an extensive bibliography. It will be invaluable to anyone conducting research on scyphozoa and to students of marine zoology and comparative physiology.

Informative update on the scyphozoa.

the book describes biological details of both scyphomedusa and stauromedusae, and has a large bibliography. i found it useful in my study on the scyphomedusae as the other book I had been using was published in 1970. Distribution details are not given, however. Good sourcebook for Scyphozoan reserach.
