About the Author
Brett E Trusko, PhD, MBA, is an Assistant Professor at Texas A&M University, where he is also the Director of the Health LINKS innovation lab, a 4,000 square foot innovation center located in the world famous Texas Medical Center. He is also the President and Executive Director of the nonprofit International Association of Innovation Professionals (iaoip.org), a global innovation certification organization. Dr. Trusko is the current Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Innovation Science.
Praveen Gupta, MSEE, is the President of Accelper Consulting, which works with organizations in achieving improved profitable growth through Six Sigma, Process Excellence, Innovation, and Performance Measurements. He led the deployment of Six Sigma at Motorola in 1986 and the development of innovation science since 2003. Praveen has published in many magazines and has authored many books on Six Sigma and innovation, including Business Innovation in the 21st Century. He was the founding editor-in-chief of International Journal of Innovation Science. He is a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Illinois, and Adjunct Industry Professor at Illinois Institute of Technology. Praveen also heads Center for Innovation Science and Application at IIT, Chicago.

INNOVATION for many people is a buzzword. This book breaks it down for deeper understanding!

I purchased this as a textbook for my MBA program in strategic design and innovation. I've graduated as of 2015, but still am using this book as a valuable reference tool in teaching in the rather uncharted waters of business innovation strategy.
So often in the business world people use the word "innovation" loosely but with no real definition other than they did something they think of as "new". Innovation is so much more than just that. This book is a great tool for thinking strategically in a 21st century business environment.

Needs a copyediting overhaul

This is a terribly written textbook. There are grammatical and logical linguistic errors which make the book difficult to read at times. In addition, there is no Appendix or list of definitions in the back of the book (or even at the end of the chapters). I am disappointed in the structure and lack of editing of this book because I believe the content is essential for any professional who wants to improve their enterprise through innovation.
